Prepare to be disappointed, 4g service will include a premium fee (rumored to be $10) in addition to any current voice & data charges.
I agree 29.99 per phone is a rip off. my wife has a driod and i want to get one but i wont because of the extra 30 dollars a month on the bill. they should have a plan that includes unlimited data and messaging for all phones on the plan.
Well, they do have the $9.99 data plan allowing 25 mb which really is nothing, and you cant get the Droid having only that. I would want the Droid X or Droid 2, but cant afford the $29.99 data plan (being that my parents make me pay), so I wont be getting that one!
something for as little as 50 mb for $8.99 would be good for someone who has more minimal data usage for a "OS" device.
Couple things. The 'Rumor' is just that... a rumor. I am almost positive it will be different than that.
As for current data plans. It was announced during Verizon's Financial Conference Call on Friday that there WILL be a 150MB/$15/month data plan coming very soon, for feature phones and Smartphones.
i totally agree!! i think they should make it cheaper for the family package.... i have four lines and if all of us had the data plan of 29.99... that would be an additional $120.00 on top of the regular bill. Verizon is charging waaaaay too much for their customers if they and an additional $10 for the 4g network. if they do, i mind as well switch out of verizon while i still have the chance.
Yeah, Verizon, who is literally spending tens of billions of dollars to blanket the entire country in 4g over the next few years should give it away for free!
Would it be safe to assume that in your world the new $15 150 MB package is still too much??
"Yeah, Verizon, who is literally spending tens of billions of dollars to blanket the entire country in 4g over the next few years should give it away for free!"
It's so funny to me how "some people" (probably 'Verizon' employees) are so combative about ANYONE asking any questions!! Um, the "funny" thing to me is that, gee, this is EXACTLY what the operator on the 611 call I had said to me Yeah, "We're putting a lot of money into the network so we have to pass 'some' of the cost along to the customers." Go figure some 'random customer' would also say that, haha.
Oh, so what has Verizon been doing for the last 10 years then...? Living paycheck to paycheck? Last I checked, it was this most-profitable wireless company in the nation with the more subscribers... so lemme get this straight... so when Verizon wants to keep up with Sprint, they horde the money they've made, and expect it to come out of hidden fees for people using the 4G service? It's not up the the customers to provide Verizon extra fees so they can upgrade their product... that's what a business model should do.
In this day and age, it's like paying for color tv. It's not up to the customers to foot the bill for this 100%, Verizon needed to be investing in this a while ago... but we all know they have gobs of money, they just want to keep it firmly in their pockets while passing the costs onto us.
All I know is this... my co-worker has the Evo and pay $69 (plus a $10 fee as well) and, for $79, he gets UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. Not with Verizon. I wish they'd provide us with these details so we can make the choice to switch if we wanted to.
