5 GHz band keeps dropping out

I have 5G Home Internet service. It's C-Band with the white cube ASK-NCQ1338FA device. Firmware 222656.
I have band steering off, so the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands are configured separately. The problem is every few days the 5 GHz band just turns off. I can still see it listed as a wi-fi network but I either cannot sign on or when I do sign on there is no internet connection. When this is happening the 2.4 GHz band continues to work fine, as does the ethernet (LAN) connection. I have to reset the device (unplug it and plug it back in) to get the 5 GHz band to start working again.
Any idea what's going on here? Could it be a defective device?
