My neighbor (within sight) has Verizon 5G Home Internet , when I check availability it says it's unavailable for my address but I can be notified. I currently have T Mobile wireless home internet, but being a 25 year Verizon customer I'd like to use a Verizon product (and it costs less than the T Mobile product, although they have a lifetime price guarantee). Why would it not be available to me

Verizon may not be accepting further orders because your area's at capacity. Or, if your neighbor has Millimeter wave 5G service and not the C-Band version, your home may literally be too many feet away from the nearest serving site. C-Band has less overall network capacity, millimeter wave has less overall range.
The most you can do is to keep checking for availability, and order when you're able to.
