I have had 5G Home Wifi for about two weeks and just went in to a Verizon Store to ask a question about hooking up an old land line phone. While there the rep showed me a new larger version of the 5G Wifi router which he said is more powerful and a better piece of equipment for the same monthly price. Is it worth my trouble to get the new one? The one I have seems to be working fine. My concern is that as more users come on line will my service suffer because I have the old version of the router?

wifi240, I definitely get wanting to make sure that you've got the best tech for your need. If you recently got our 5G Home services, the 5G Home would be our latest model. Can you share with me the model name of the unit you have?

Thank you for that information. You absolutely have a current gateway that we offer. When it comes to the equipment, we do analyze the area by the address where the service will be used and we will send you the equipment that is compatible with the network and data speeds in the area. You mentioned a concern that you may start noticing a difference as more devices are connected. This gateway supports up to 128 WiFi connected devices. Does this help answer your question?

Honestly, my smaller Verizon Gateway Router gave me a MUCH BETTER signal. In fact, when Hurricane Helene came through I never lost my signal. I live in an apartment and my neighbors on internet with the well known competitor lost service for two days. Now I have to load and reload and wait for anything to come up especially if my tv is going. I think the difference is used to I had my 5G connection and then I could connect other devices to the LTE connection but I no longer have both. I really hate it!
