I was put on a waitlist for 5G home wifi. Ill put some additional info below but has anyone gone through this before? if so, how long did it take for service to become available?
I called and asked a Customer Service Rep for help or some additional info on the waitlist. The general Q&A i had is below:
Q: What is the typical wait time?
A: It depends on when someone else on the network cancels service
Q: How many homes does a single 5G network serve? If its 10-20 homes, Id go with a different provider, if its 100+, I would wait a bit longer in hopes someone moves out.
A: Were not sure, that would be a question for IT
Q: Can you provide a service map showing what 5G towers/transmitters service what areas of town?
A: That would be a question for the IT department
Q: Can you let me know how many other people are on the waitlist?
A: That would be a question for the IT department
Q: Can you put me in contact with the IT department?
A: They dont have a phone number.
We did just move to a new neighborhood thats in a lower income area. Ive moved to multiple states/areas for work in the past and have never had this issue. I would assume in these lower income areas, there is less service available. I would hope that verizon can increase their service capabilities so its available to anyone who wants/needs it, regardless of the area.
If youre experiencing this issue as well, Verizon customer support wont be any help. The only thing they tell you to do is wait until you get an email saying the service is now available, however long that may be.
