I’m formally disputing a $150 balance that has been incorrectly attributed to me and sent to Diversified Adjustment, causing significant damage to my credit.
Timeline
Late Feb/early Mar 2025: A Verizon rep pitched a home internet plan. A router was to be delivered in March; it never arrived.
I never opened an account, activated service, or signed any agreement.
Apr/May 2025: I received a letter stating I owed $150.
May 2025: I called Verizon; your representative assured me the charges would be dropped because no service was provided.
After moving, I received no further notice, no email, call, or mail, indicating any balance due.
Oct 2025: I discovered Verizon closed an account in my name and sent $150 to collections, which is now hurting my credit score.
It has been two weeks since I disputed the charge with Diversified, with no action taken. I have contacted both Verizon and Diversified repeatedly without resolution.
Requested Resolution
Instruct Diversified Adjustment to recall and delete the collection immediately.
Remove any negative reporting with all bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).
Send written confirmation that my balance is $0, the collection has been withdrawn, and the tradeline removed.
This is urgent. I have never missed a payment, and this erroneous report is jeopardizing my housing applications. Please confirm the resolution within 5 business days.
