Initial Activation error

white cube, 1338fa


Just received my 5G gateway and powered it up.  Solid white light  and attempted to connect to wifi.  iPhone found the network and then displayed login message saying it needed to verify device.  Next page displayed a device error, reset device or contact support.  

also went through the app wizard for 5g compass.  Tried a couple places.  Compass test says weak signal but it also said that when device was powered off.  

any thoughts?   App can’t even manage the device.

Hello, Pfeif4, I'm sorry to hear you ran into an issue with your 5G Home setup. You mentioned seeing an error after attempting to setup. Were you able to reset your router? Is the router located near a window or exterior facing wall?

thank you and sorry for the delay in responding as a phone tech was assisting.  The device had to be reactivated,   Now, I am trying to find the best place in the house.  I am on sanibel island and coverage is spotty.

What devices do they use?  I probably won’t get the best connection with an indoor antenna.  I asked the phone tech and he said this was the only device compatible with the area.  Not that I want to mount and outdoor antenna and have something inside, but I suspect that will get the best coverage,  my phone will get only two bars 5G and sometimes I get the same bars UW but the speeds are slower then lte. 

is that true about different devices are not compatible in certain areas?  

just curious as to my options.
