I have had 5G Home Internet since November 2023. At first it was great and speeds anywhere from 2[phone number removed per the Verizon Terms of Service] consistently. After about 7 months I dropped to the lower plan because I didn’t need that much speed for the streaming I do. It was fine for about a month and then I started intermittently having poor connections. I went through everything with support and moved router, reset, etc. it was better for about a week and then was consistently slow in the evening. It was during the 2024 Olympics and it was so bad that I couldn’t even stream it. If I used data on my phone it was slow but not as bad as the home internet. I was getting 1-2 mbps all night. Thinking that I had good connection when I was on the higher tier plan I thought I would go back to that. After going to the higher plan it was good for maybe a night or 2 and then slow again. Went through everything with support again with the same results. The Olympics ended and it was back to where I was able to stream at night again but was only getting [phone number removed per the Verizon Terms of Service] mbps through the evening. Through all these times if I checked the speed during the day I was getting 2[phone number removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]. Now it is into September 2024 and again it is unusable slow in the evening. After reading the forums I see that I’m not the only one with the problem and Verizon has overloaded their network without proper support. Has anyone been able to find a way to flood Verizon with complaints whenever the connection is bad without having to go through all the automated responses to speak with a live person only for them to try and have me walk through the troubleshooting? I know that it’s nothing with my service, it is a problem with the Verizon network.

Oh, no! Dealing with slow data connection can be frustrating. Our goal is to help you in the best way possible.
What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this problem? Aside from the slow internet, any other issues?

I just purchased Verizon 5G Home. Am only getting upwards of 280 mbps. The speed is supposed to be closer to 1 gig. Talked to support 3 times today and all that was done was restart the modem. No change to the speed. The account rep tried to tell me it takes 10 days to get full speed. That sounds super silly. This evening the speed dropped to 190 mbps. This is day 1 of 30 day trial. Is this a harbinger of dissapointing service?

Where did the "up to 1Gb" expectation come from? Verizon store associates? Verizon advertising in your area? Some place else?
Are you using Verizon 5G Home or Verizon 5G Home Plus service? The Home service (not plus) is capped at 100Mbps (download). The Home Plus service is capped at 300Mbps (download).
I've heard a few people mention "up to 1 gig" speeds, but I've never actually seen any advertising from Verizon to support that. Even their "Broadband Facts" for the services don't mention that level of speed.
For reference, I have an amazingly strong signal and my speeds average 320Mbps x 20Mbps. I am using Verizon 5G Home Plus.
Now, for reference, my cell phone (using the same Verizon tower) can absolutely hit speeds approaching 1Gbps (850Mbps-950Mbps). But, that is also inline with what is advertised for my phone service.

Hello, Jeffonyc, we know it's important to have the fast data speeds you rely on during the day! When did this issue with data speed start? Have there been any recent changes just before this started?

Internet running super slow in Valley Village right now. Download speeds at 25 Mb when it should be 300 Mb. This issue continues to happen, internet service not reliable overall. Going to need to make the switch to another provider.
