Ok, so right off I can admit my error. I allowed myself to fall victim to a fast talking, friendly sales rep in store.  I upgraded my phone. I was lied to about everything - price of phone, discounted accessories, and the kicker was “qualified for 1 year trial of 5G Wi-Fi” that had just come to my area. If I liked it I could call and sign up and the rate would start after my free year. My free upgrade (after trade-in) ended up costing me over $500. Now I did glance at the invoice because I was shocked by the amount, but I was also switching from android to Apple to I needed all of the accessories anyways - minus the Wi-Fi. I didn’t read the fine print about my payments for Wi-Fi. It was never free. After 6 months I hopped on online chat to sign up and try to lock in a 3 year rate (as was the promo at that time) and in 2 hours of convo I was given 2 responses by the CSR - I can start a new line and get the promo or I can lock in at $60 (instead of $35 promo).

I finally gave up with online chat because it was taking WAY too long.

I reviewed my invoice again. Turns out I was given Wi-Fi for $25/mo for 1 yr after discounts are applied. Ok, that’s not horrible and I’ve been happy with the service in comparison to spectrum.

my issue is that after over 20 years of loyalty to verizon, never having one negative issue with them to date, to realize I was taken by a slimey salesperson, and it seems that Verizon didn’t want to offer anything at all as a service recovery option (I mean anything would have been nice).

as I said in the beginning… I realize this is MY fault ultimately, but the delayed realization was a kick in the pants and left a salty taste in my mouth. Customer service across the board (all companies) seems to be lacking these days and it’s upsetting to see after all these years, Verizon is following rank.
