Return equipment tracking label

I canceled my subscription for the home Internet because I moved. I was then told that I can only return the equipment after Verizon sends me a return package and label. I had to update my address on my disconnected account, which was not easy.

Now that my address has been updated and a new return package has been requested, I am wondering if I should get the tracking number via email, because I didn't get any confirmation that something was sent.

I called last week and a rep told me they had updated my address when in fact they hadn't, which now makes me doubtful when I am told something and have no written confirmation. I don't want to have to pay the fees for non-return of equipment when all I am waiting for is a label, because I have the equipment ready to go.

Should I get an email with the tracking number of the return package Verizon is sending me?

This process is really hard to do when moving and I can't believe I'm the only one in this situation. We should be able to drop the equipment at the store.
