Screen freezes

Recently received a new set top box “upgrade “ but now the screen continually freezes unless I’m watching Samsung Plus app. I’ve re-set the router, and the STB SEVERAL to no avail.
is this a matter of them having sent a bad box, never happened with the old and I’m thinking about going back to that one
