Slow Speeds

When I first got the 5G internet service in May it was blazing fast however, since early July my speeds are now less than 100 mbps at the gateway level and on the wifi proper, my download/upload speeds are abismal at 10 mbps even with ethernet.

I have an excellent signal, restarted the gateway countless of times and I am still getting speed problems.

Is there a software setting that needs changing or a software update that slowed this down?

I don't get it at all.

Vagrante13, we're sorry to hear about the slow speeds you're experiencing, and we want to make sure you're getting the fast data speeds you depend on. Are you using your own router or is your Wi-Fi itself coming from the 5G Home Internet device?

We have a troubleshooting guide you can follow that can help diagnose issues with speeds. You can find it here: https://www.verizon.com/support/devices/#mobile Just find your 5G Home model and click "Troubleshoot". After that, find the problem that best matches your symptoms. Please let us know if you continue to have any problems.

Hi @Vagrante13 , sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. I had the same problem a couple of months back and it turns out that I had to get hardware replaced and upgraded. This included a replacement RJ45 keystone for the ethernet connection from my Optical Network Terminal (ONT) box to the wall mounted plate and a new ONT box in itself.

This came after many moments spent on call with Verizon Tech Support, having to reset my entire router, getting a new one sent to me (which was still failing to provide promised speeds).

It could be a software or hardware issue but best call given that you've tried restarting your router multiple times might be to call Tech Support to have a technician come take a look.
