I accepted an offer from Verizon to upgrade my Home Internet from 500MB to 1GB and would receive a free WiFi extender as part of the offer:
* I had to visit a specific Verizon store to pick up the extender because Verizon did not offer to have it delivered to my residence.
* The extender (E3200 model) would not connect to my existing router (CR1000) wirelessly. An online rep confirmed that only a wired connection would work with the E3200 model. I inquired about another extender model Verizon had that could connect wirelessly, but was told that particular model was not part of the offer and it would be need to be separate purchase.
* I attempted to return the extender at another Verizon store that was nearest to me as their website stated rented equipment could be returned this way. That was incorrect as the store I visited did not handle Internet equipment and even mentioned the store I had picked up the extender from would not accept returns.
* I reached out to another online rep to request a return kit which included a return label and a cardboard box to ship back the extender. The box provided however was way too small to package the extender and had to find other materials to sufficiently ship this return.
I was enticed to have an extender cover more areas of my residence with a stronger WiFi signal, but this offer became a hassle and was not worth the time.
