Verizon 5G internet box return nightmare

I bought a Verizon 5G box in Oregon, then moved to Pennsylvania. I upgraded internet in Pennsylvania to FIOS. Then cancelled the 5G internet as it was not needed anymore. I tried to get a return box sent to my new address for about 4 months. Everytime I called to get a return box sent could expect sitting on the phone for a hour or more. One call I sat on the phone getting flipped around to other reps for two hours. Massive deterrent at this point trying to call. Finally received a little return box magically. I could not believe it! Sent it back. So the box was sent less than 40 miles away in the same state. I have return label, shipping, tracking reference. Have all the tracking saying it was SOF left at dock. So long story short. Verizon sent my account to collections for $200.00 and this has absolutely been the biggest nightmare. Credit went from 820 to 600 overnight. Currently trying to get this sorted out. Called the collections and they can't find my name or account on file. Have no idea what to do. Everytime I call Verizon support I sit on the phone for hours just for them to give me the run around. This is the most stressful situation dealing with a company in my life. Not sure what else to do other than go to Better Business Bureau, FCC. Would prefer not to escalate the situation. Considering I actually still have Verizon as my cell carrier, and FIOS. Someone please help me with this nightmare. Make it end.

UPDATE : I was able to verify the 5G box was returned ONLY because I saved a picture of the 5G box iMEI. Without this, it would be very difficult to prove the box was returned. So the wonderful agent looked up the account using the iMEI and we find out guess what!? The box is actively being used by another customer already! So I'm waiting for Verizon to put a account credit to close the collection process down. Not sure how I go upon getting it completely removed from my credit report due to this massive mistake on Verizons side. Called collections and we have to wait for an update on Verizons side now. This entire situation could have been avoided if Verizons return process was better simplified or fixed. Only thing I'm worried about is getting this removed from my credit report. Went from 820 credit score to under 600!! Absolute nightmare of a situation. Hopefully Verizon can use this situation to possibly figure out what happened and how to avoid it. Insanity!
