I switched to Verizon a couple months ago from another carrier. My unlocked Samsung Galaxy A14 was always in 5G mode until just a couple days ago, when it began showing 4G LTE in the afternoon while I was out shopping, then when I got home was back in 5G. As of today, it's always in 3-4 bars 4G LTE unless I open up Google, Chrome, or the Google Play Store, in which case the 5G *usually* comes back on, but once I stop using the internet, goes back to LTE mode. I'm a very light data user and on the prepaid 15 gig plan...am I being deprioritized because I don't use my phone all that much? My service otherwise works as I haven't had any issues (yet?) with calls, texts, and checking the weather app.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
