Data boost didn’t work

When I use all available data on my shared plan, I purchase a data boost of 1GB for $15 and that gets me enough high speed data to last until the next month. This time, I did that, but Verizon is still throttling my data to 3G speed. The support rep confirmed this during a 2 hour call. And she told me there was no way to enable my high speed data until the period ends 7 days from now. She said I would not be billed for it, but in the My Verizon app, it shows it in my estimated next bill. But it's unacceptable that they seem to have no ability to give me the high speed data boost that I tried to purchase. The only option they offered is to change to an unlimited plan. I will not change to an unlimited plan because the cost is not competitive and I would do better to switch to another provider. I am losing faith in Verizon.

I've already spent 2 hours on the phone troubleshooting with a Verizon support person. Its been confirmed that the very slow speed that both of our lines are experiencing is the result of safety mode throttling. I purchased a 1GB data boost which should have restored high speed data. That didn't work! Why can't Verizon fix this?

Another Verizon support person contacted me by private message and looked into it. They tried to help, but still there was no solution. The best they could do was to credit $15 for the data boost I purchased because they could not find a way to deliver it during the remainder of the period. I had to get through the last week of the month without high speed data service on our 2 lines. Now that we're finally into a new month, we have high speed data again.
I'm not sure, but based on my conversations with support, this problem might have been avoided had I not had "safety mode" option turned on. I now have it turned off. If I understand correctly, when our data usage goes over the plan limit, the speed will remain high and the overage will be billed at $15 per GB, which is equivalent to our purchasing the data boost, only it will happen automatically from now on.

That's not true. Switching off Safety Mode does not take effect until the next monthly cycle. During the last 7 days of the cycle, we had to go without high speed data because nobody at Verizon was able to deliver the data boost when we needed it.
