Maybe I’m confused and just not understanding how it works, but I have an iPhone 11pro max and only have the option for LTE or 3G..I should have 5G.   Why is this?

The iPhone 11 Pro Max is not a 5G Device. Apple added 5G to iPhone starting with iPhone 12
