I recently upgraded from a Pixel 3xl to a Pixel 7a (unlocked). The Pixel 3xl did not have 5G. The LTE data was fast and call reception was good. It used a physical SIM card. I was happy with the 3XL for for 5 years.
The Pixel 7a uses an eSIM. The 5G data speed is poor. The call reception is worse. In searching the Internet, the suggestion is to disable 5g, however that option has been removed from my SIM menu.
I've been a satisfied Verizon for 25 years. This step backwards in network performance could make me switch.
Has anyone encountered this and found a solution?
