The map showing coverage for my area shows it should be the best (5G UW), yet it's absolutely horrendous. I can't get any service in or outside my house, or even miles away. I also live near a busy freeway, rest area, and truck stop, so I don't understand how there's no service at or around my home. I have to use my wifi to do literally anything on my phone, including text or make calls, so when our internet is out we have nothing. One of the reasons I changed to Verizon was the service coverage and the map shows excellent coverage where I am, but not being able to even use cell service at or around my home is ridiculous. Is there some reason there's no service somewhere the map says should be 5G UW?

Is your phone in SOS mode, or you just don't have 5G?

It will show 1 bar of 5G then go down to 1 bar and then usually go sos mode if I try to use it. Sometimes it will connect the call just to drop it and go to sos mode.

If you have your phone set to only use 5G, change it to automatic band selection instead. Verizon uses their 4G LTE network for phone calls, so if you don't have VoLTE enabled on your phone, it can't make calls at all.

princesscoyote, we understand how important it is to have a reliable connection. How often is this happening? Can you check to see if your device has the most up to date software?
