I have a Samsung Galaxy 22ultra. Been a Verizon customer for many years with only a gap of 4 months when I tried T-Mobile. When I came back to Verizon I had to purchase the phone I have now because the T-Mobile one would not work properly. After purchasing the Samsung, I had issues with service which was never a problem prior to the oops with T-Mobile. At that time was told I had to upgrade my plan to have the best service which included the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN. With that upgrade had 5G with no issues anywhere I went until recently. I notice last couple of weeks that I now only have 4lte and barely there on the bars. When I am near towns, bigger cities I do get the 5G, just no longer from home. Reading others around the country having the same issues makes me wonder what is going on with Verizon. The plan I have now is no longer available and the simple phone hubby has is now being charged an extra $5 per month because of this. I talked with customer service last month about this and another issue. They tried to sell me a new plan saying it would save me money, not. After asking several questions on what I have with my no longer available plan to compare with the new save me money plan and it would cost me much more per month. Now the issue with service makes me wonder if I call and ask about the 5G not having from home will I be told I have to upgrade again? Does not seem like others have had any help nor getting an answer of what is going on. Will wait and see what happens in the next few weeks and check back on here to see if anyhow has had their issue resolved.

We're sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Samsung phone. We want to make sure you're getting the best service possible, and we want to help. While at home, what data speeds do you get? You can find this out by searching "speed test" on Google and using the one provided there. How many bars of service do you have at home? How far do you need to travel to see better service?

Just off the cell tower on my cell phone I got.
download 5.69 mbps
upload 1.26 mbps
1 to 2 bars with 4GLTE, depending on time of day.
The speed test through Google is for internet and Verizon internet is not available for my location, very rural.
As for how far away from home, have no idea at this time. I may leave home once a week and it has only been the last couple of weeks seeing 4GLTE instead of the 5G. Yesterday I did see the 5G in a midsize town but didn't pay attention to actual when/where it switched back and forth.
Reason I came on here to see if others were seeing a change on service and if anyone got answers why.
If I am paying extra for the 5G then my phone should be at 5G.

Verizon's 5G network isn't very large in reality. If you were able to get 5G at home before, you must be pretty close to at least a mid-size city, because it's only the bigger cities and the adjacent areas which have 5G access. As for why your 5G light has shut off of late, that's been happening to a lot of us from what I've been reading in these forums, including myself. I think the network is having trouble keeping up in more populated areas and the towers are running at capacity more often.
If you want a well-recommended speed test app, download the Ookla speed test app. It's free.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

That's understandable, gemfire. Taking a look from another angle, when checking Coverage Map: https://www.verizon.com/coverage-map/ does it show that your home area is under 5G coverage or LTE?

Thanks for reaching out and bringing your situation to our attention. We would like the opportunity to check out the coverage and gather a few more details. When did the issue begin? Are calls dropping? How is your internet connection when away from home disconnected from wifi?

I do not have my phone through WIFI when at home, it drained the battery down faster for some reason. I noticed only 4Glte from home about a month ago. Don't receive many calls so at this time can't say anything has been dropped.
My point is I had to specifically upgrade my account to avoid those issues and get on the better plan for cell tower preference. With seeing only, the 4GLTE from home I don't want to see those issues again. I also don't want to be told I have to change my plan in order to get the 5G from home.

DO any representatives read previous comments, questions and answers? Why are my answers not enough and I keep getting more questions? This morning I made a call to my local bank and I get Verizon saying that call cannot be made and to check the number, dah! I pressed REDIAL and it went through, so yes there is an issue! I want what I am paying for, the 5G.

Have exactly same issue and same lame responses. "But you need to upgrade to the New 5g plan"
Did not make sense 5g should be 5g. Person in store told me definately do not change.
Sim in sim out multiple times still no good reception at home or when in car moving. It seems like many things, Verizon plans are urban centric an leave rural users high and dry.
