Randomly can no longer hear me

So here's an unusual one and I'm not sure if it's a Verizon issue in general, or something else?

My friend and I both have Verizon (different accounts), and both have Samsung phones.  Mine is a Note 21 Ultra, her's is like an S20+ or something along those lines.  Every single day, multiple times the same thing occurs.  While talking to her, she will no longer "hear me", though I can hear her the whole time.  Usually she ends up having to hang up and call me back.  Sometimes the call will just disconnect on it's own.  Rarely, the call will "reconnect" the audio on my end and she can hear me again.

She doesn't experience these issues talking to anyone else, only me.  Sometimes my phone is connected to wifi, sometimes it isn't.  Happens either way.  I also use my phone all day long for meetings and never encounter the issue during any of my other calls.

When she travels back home from work, once she gets close to her town, it sometimes ends the call randomly as well.

This has literally happened for almost a year now. Is this a Verizon issue?  A tower hand off issue?  Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

ShadowFenix We want to help take a look at this concern. You mentioned that this does not happen to you, has your friend had this happen with other calls? ~Peter

Correct, the issue never occurs for me with other calls.  As mentioned, I'm on conference calls throughout the day and never have any issues.

She is on her phone a lot, and said it does happen to her on occasion when she's talking to other users, but with me in particular it's much more common.  Like I said, it happens most often when she's travelling back towards her home town, or already there.  For example we were on the phone last night as she was headed home and it happened three times within a 10 minute window.  It's always the same result too, she can't hear me, but I can hear her the whole time until she hangs up, realizing it's happening again.  It never happens the other way around.

I often think maybe she just needs to replace her phone (since it's a year older or two), but I don't know.  It's super bizarre.... lol

Thank you for this information. Let's find the root cause for these issues. Please tell me, are you changing location when this issue appears to happen? Also, does this happen while connecting your phone via Bluetooth to another device? ~Geo
