VZW not responding to cell tower issues

Here in Little Falls, NJ Main Street there is minimal service 4G at best. Most of the time it is so minimal a call cannot be completed. Last night the power went out and a neighbor had a medical emergency. They were screaming because they could not reach their family. This issue has been reported for over a year with no correction. This must be fixed now. I personally reported it multiple times with no resolution.

That's sad. I would've thought Verizon had great coverage throughout the northeastern US, since they offer services there which the rest of the country can't even get, but that's clearly not the case. If another provider works better there, time to port because it's a cell phone world now and IMO you've given Verizon enough of a chance. Dead zones occur for numerous reasons, so it's hard to say why your service is poor.
As for the power outage, unfortunately not all cell phone towers have a backup power supply in case of power outages. If your neighbor has critical medical equipment in their home which needs a reliable source of electricity, I'd suggest they contact the utility company to see if some provision can be provided for them. While I've never had to put in such a request, I do know the city I'm in does ask the electricity customers if we are in such a situation, so I'm guessing there's some kind of fail-safe employed for these things?
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
