Hi,
Our 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan has built-in usb ports designed specifically for charging devices. When traveling, I like to keep my phone charging. Is it okay to use one of these USB ports instead of using the supplied usb turbo-charger that comes with the phone?
Thanks,
Bill
That's what they are designed for I suspect.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
As long as the ports are designed with USB spec in mind you are fine.
My older Droid Turbo 2 used to charge acceptably in my car's USB port. Recently, though, it has started having trouble charging (not charging) when NOT using the non-USB turbo charger that comes with it. Neither USB battery packs (that previously worked) nor my car's USB work now. I've accepted that the phone is old(er) and the battery(?) may be having issues. I've purchased an extra non-USB turbo charger for my hybrid Ford C-Max with an outlet and use it to charge my phone in the car.
