Bought 2 hums to track elderly parents, was told I could share their locations with others(of vehicles) for active gps tracking. First it was a 2month nightmare dealing with hum. I eventually gave up on hum and escalated to tech service management, at Verizon because hum was so inept, at the simple things like call backs and transfers. TS management a Verizon was the only people who helped at all. So. . . Long story short, 6-8 months later, after I shared location with the people in my life, I had my girlfriend check on the locations. Come to find out she has no access. After another hr. On the phone with both Verizon and hum, I was informed that only the acct holder can access hum/vehicle locations! I asked the question twice: “So if I want them to see the locations of the hums, they have to log in with my email, and password”
sharing email!and passwords even with friends and family, doesn’t sound like a sound plan.
this product does not deliver its advertised options.
i told the Verizon rep when I bought them that this was my purpose.
Poor training, and useless sharing.
Leokiff, as my parents are now into their 80's and definitely on the go, I know how important it is to know that they enjoy that freedom and yet ensure that they are safe. We are truly sorry to hear that you have been through so many challenges in simply trying to ensure that safety. Which Hum devices do you have? These days you truly can never be too safe in keeping your information secure. After 30 years of marriage there are still things that I maintain access on to maintain security as well as peace of mind. Are you able to access the location details both on your phone as well as the website?
