Logging into a router without the factory password

My daughter's friends came over, messed with our router and did a factory reset on it. I need to log into the router for parental controls/port forwarding, however, a large chunk of the printed information has been scratched off over the years and I am unable to login to the router. Apparently it came with a custom password instead of just "password".

Is there any way to log in/reset the password of the router without the factory shipped password?

The router model is M1424WR Rev. 1. Thanks.

The default is "password" or the router's serial number. If neither work you'll have to call Verizon (800) 837-4966.

This router is supplied by Verizon Communications for Verizon FiOS. You have posted your question to the Verizon Wireless forum. For more information try here: http://forums.verizon.com.
