The issue is ever single rep gives a different answer at both Verizon and
Samsung. Companies should inform their reps with real factual info and
allow their customers to know.
If a rep with actual info said issues with getting watches due to this and
won't be available till said date.
As for Samsung they really should have had all the kinks out ages ago for
all cellular providers and is doing a disservice to verizon
I'm not sure if I could stand the intrigue if every time that I was interested in a product that obtaining some detailed information on it was like inquiring about a clandestine operation.
So i chatted online with a Samsung rep and this is the conversation. It is up to you if you can trust their word.

Drove 70 miles to my nearest BestBuy store to compare the Gear S3 Frontier with the Gear S (Verizon Cellular) that I've been wearing for two years. Not only did they not have any word on when the Verizon Gear S3 would be available, they had no Bluetooth versions of the watch, either. Nor could they order one in. Nor could they do an inter-store transfer of one from another store. This watch has to be this year's version of the "tickle-me Elmo" doll of Christmas past - you can't get one!
On the brighter side, the previous post showing a Gear S3 Frontier (Verizon) means it's conceivable that one will come out. I am just out of contract on my original Gear S and I'll wait for the Verizon version. It took me a while to really connect with this market. While there's nothing I can do on the watch that I can't do on my Galaxy S7, it's still ... cool. And I want it NOW.
Sounds like we are getting closer to confirmation and possible release if both Verizon and Samsung people are at least saying it is coming out.
Final battery test on T-Mobile frontier. I used it yesterday as my daily driver. I left my phone on the charging stand at home Al day with calls forwarded. I made a lot of errand trips, and took an exercise walk. In addition to the usual messaging and several calls (one of which was 45 minutes) On three of the errand trips, I used Gear Navigator Standalone, which obviously uses multiple radiis and is downloading map data. It lasted the whole day. When I put it in the charger at 10:30 pm, it showed 18% left. Finally, a connected watch can provide full functionality and last a day as a primary device under heavy use.
I just got off of chat, first time I have ever seen them confirm it was coming. They said it would be out January and it will be on device payment. They say it was the way it was manufactured by Samsung that kept it from working on their network. Take it with a grain of salt especially the device payment part. We will see.
Verizon told me that they still have no release date for the Gear S3 watch. The guy I spoke with would not even guess at a possible release date.
please tell me you got a screen shot of that chat or a email copy for yourself so if its not offered on the device payment plan they have to offer it to you lol
dont know if this means anything or not but i just looked under the wearable section of verizon and both the gear s2 and s2 classic are not even offered for the 3g just the Bluetooth.
