BULLETIN: It now appears that the best comparable watch around is the LG Watch which comes in 2 models: the Style and the Sport. The Sport is the one to get since it has the phone and the Style does not. It's actually available to order online NOW from Verizon and will be in the store on 3/16. The watches run Android Wear 2.0 which supposedly has all of the capabilities of the Gear S3 and more. Needs some research but looks a major development. I believe that this watch supersedes the Gear S3!
Can Order NOW for $329 with 2 year contract or $379 with no contract from Verizon at:
It's hard to get a comparison with Samsung S3 being that it's exclusive to Verizon and Verizon don't carry the Samsung S3 Gear to compare. I viewed amazon for a comparison but could not find the LG Wear24 there either. The advantage for me with Samsung smartwatch S3 is my link to my Samsung smartphone. Samsung seems to offer more features if you have their smartphone instead of another brand. Also, the description of the Wear24 seem to highlight Google as far as apps, i wonder if you can get Spotify or other non Google related apps. Also, the Wear24 list text and phone but not email, like Samsung S3 does.
I am so angry at Verizon right now.
It appears Verizon has given us a choice however. If we want the latest and greatest technology we will have to look someplace other than Verizon.
I waited MONTHS for my Note 2.
I've waited MONTHS for my Gear S3
I'm done waiting. My contract is up this year and I'm out.
Looks like Verizon customers might be hoodwinked again. The exclusive new LG Watch Sport lte smartwatch on pre-order status with Verizon is available at AT&T.
For me, if they'd mimicked the Moto 360 Gen II's chunky look I'd have been interested. As it stands, for numerous reasons, the Bluetooth Gear S3 Frontier paired with my Note 4 running Marshmallow is a good setup. I put my S7 Edge, the fast drain battery champ of 2016, on hiatus and woke my Note 4 from its 15 month slumber; it updated all day. Still using my LG V20 on a second line for various tasks where it excels at storing most of that which I could possibly need while away from home. The V20's long lasting battery has come as something of a surprise. I bought a spare battery back in October when I received the V20 and typically haven't had much of a need for it; I do rotate the batteries just to keep the wear equalized.
I do wish they'd built a nicer-looking smartwatch for this upcoming release.
Wow, last month Verizon CFO said they didn't need an unlimited data plan to compete with T-mobile, AT&T and Sprint. Today they announced an unlimited data plan starting tomorrow. Their financials must show some negative impact due to competition. Surprise, surprise, surprise......Verizon joins the unlimited wireless plan fray as growth slows | ZDNet
Surprised me, helps us majorly as we aren't able to get an Internet service
where we are unless we pay a fortune to bring a line to us and then we
aren't even guaranteed it will be good service. Just wished I could of had
my S3 through verizon.
