I've lived with the Gear S3 Frontier Bluetooth version for three and one-half months. I believe that some folks may be shorting themselves in waiting for the LTE-enable Gear S3. If it means that much to someone that they need the LTE version then go ahead and wait to see if it lands here; they certainly don't need my 'permission'. Otherwise, if you are mostly near your phone (maybe 15-20 meters), you'll appreciate the tricks which the Bluetooth S3 Gear can do. Of course I appreciate Samsung Pay and there are now any number of good-looking and functional watch faces for the Gear S3; I have a few which keep track of sunrise and sunset along with the weather. Call quality on the Bluetooth version is quite good though talking through one's watch in-public is a bit mystifying to onlookers. At any rate The Next Big Thing is looming somewhere just over the horizon.
The LG Sport is an overall better watch than the S3 in my opinion and I'm going to get it on the 16th when it will be in the Verizon stores. The specs are similar to the S3 but the Google operating system is much more versatile than the Tizen system, which is more important to me than a few extra hours of battery life on the S3. The number of apps available on the S3 is VERY limited and the LG is pretty wide open in downloading and allowing many, many more apps which is one of the best things about a smartwatch. The bluetooth versions of these watches are a waste of money in my opinion and the alternate provider work arounds are really "Micky Mouse" solutions. So in 2 weeks I'll be set.
So I have my T-Mobile GS3 LTE and I love it. Only issue is when I reject a call on my phone (or on the gear) it then goes to my gear (via call forward). Then it shows up on my T-Mobile voicemail. I am wondering if anyone know how to force it to VZ voicemail if call is rejected. Not a big deal, would be nice
Can't help you there as I'm still holding out for the Verizon S3. But speaking of LTE...
I saw where Samsung has released and LTE version of the Gear S3 Classic in other countries (like India I think). I just noticed from the FCC link I posted above, that LTE is listed along with the model number for the Verizon GS3 Classic; but I admit I haven't looked through the docs yet, busy at work.
I'm just wondering if, by chance, this might be the LTE version of the Gear S3 Classic?? If so, it still wouldn't make up for Verizon's huge delay of releasing the S3... but it would certainly help!
