I was looking at it earlier. From the submitted label it is a Gear S3 Classic. It also has band 4 and 13 in the reports which are Verizon bands.
There was a LTE classic version approved through the FCC last November (A3LSMR775S). It is Band 5 which is domestically used by ATT and US Cellular. Jio in India also uses this band per wikipedia.
hard to believe here we are 4 months after the release and still nothing at all. its also been almost a month since the first fcc approval
I was thinking Verizon would release Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch this month but now i'm not so sure being the month is half over.
It seems to me they are pushing LG new products instead of Samsung. Perhaps there is still some beef between them due to the Note 7 fiasco.
The LG smartwatch is on pre-order now and I read today Verizon will announce the pre-order of the new LG G6 smartphone tomorrow. With this purchase one can receive a free 43" LG smart tv, Google Home speaker and possibly $200 if their phone qualifies for a trade-in. Sounds like a sweet deal if you want a LG smartphone. Here is the link Verizon's LG G6 Promo Leaked
I am guessing Verizon will release the S8 and the watch around the same time. Hopefully they offer them in a package of some sort since I am looking to upgrade my S6 as well. Verizon Wireless's website has a Samsung countdown on their page now.
i really thought this was going to be the way Verizon was going to do it. it seemed like the smart thing to do. release the watch with the s3 and do deals with them since it was a "big Samsung release" but again Verizon falls short and no watch release. what is Verizon waiting on?? all the other carries have bundle deals on the s8 some of which include the s3 and Verizon is again behind on the times because they can not offer that. in my opinion this was a major let down by Verizon heading into April now which is 5 months after the original release and nothing is beyond a let down right now Verizon
I check back here every few weeks to see if there's any news on the S3 and see that it is still missing in action. I'm so glad I bought my non-cell version and retired my original Gear S watch. I'd probably still think about buying an LTE version of the S3 and pass mine onto my son but it really looks like this is a dead topic.
Too bad. The watch is fantastic!
Maybe the planets will align for The Next Big Thing in smartwatches some months yet down the road. Yes, even as a Bluetooth accessory the Gear S3 Frontier is quite handy.
I read yesterday the S3 gear Frontier will get an update to include "Bixby" the AI assistant currently on the newly released Samsung S8 and S8+.
Also, I read about the new S4 gear smartwatch...so it seems like the S3 gear is a wash for Verizon. Perhaps they will carry the S4 gear when it is released either the end of this year or in 2018. So glad i didnt wait on Verizon and got the S3 from another carrier.
it seems like the s4 may make a release as early as September from what i was reading. I can not wrap my head around it as to why verizon has not released the s3 yet but when they do the s3 will probably already ave a drop in price. nothing like waiting on old technology
