APPLE ONE ACTIVATION

Been a Verizon Customer for over 15+ years.....Recently switched from "5G do more" to one of the unlimited plans last month, I had Apple Arcade and music included along with the Disney+ bundle subscription through the 5G do more. After I switched to the unlimited plan I added the Apple One perk to my main line. Thinking that I could activate ASAP, that was not possible.

BACKGROUND....I am using a iPhone 14 PM, Verizon app is updated, phone is updated. I checked Apple ID>>Subscriptions>> under "Active" its still showing Apple Arcade (Subscribed through Verizon) no way for me to cancel. It says to cancel subscription, contact Verizon. (All 6 Verizons reps don't even see it on my account.) Although I'm not getting charged for it but still. I also have an Apple TV+ subscription (through Apple) but Im cancelling that because Apple One should cover it through Verizon right? NOT! When I click Verizon Plan Benefits on the bottom.."Your cellular plan doesn't include any new subscriptions to Apple Services.

CURRENT SITUATION. Verizon can not for the life of them activate my Apple One perk. My Verizon account through my MacBook and Safari, Home>>Services & Perks>>Apple One . At the top shows "You have added a perk(s), it may take a few minutes before you can activate. been almost 2 months, and I've seen other posts where they've seen more than that!

<>1st time I called Verizon rep, they ask the basic stuff and then he said he was going to contact Apple then the line drops for putting me on hold for so long.

<><>The 2nd time the rep removed the Apple One perk and re-added it, and it still did the same thing. It shows "pending". Then he tells me that my Apple Music subscription from my previous plan needs to finish its billing cycle and wait the 2 weeks to finish its cycle, 2 weeks past and still nothing and my Free Apple Music subscription is still there along with my Ghost Apple Arcade subscription, at least he credited the charge for that month of Apple One. I decided to manually cancel the Apple Music subscription.

<><><>3rd time I called I told him the situation and see what he can do differently. I told him about the Apple Arcade that is showing on my account but he seems to not see it and just kept saying oh that's because you have Apple One. My Apple One not activated that's why I'm calling! He then says to wait for the billing cycle to end and it should update in our system, this rep said he "will put in a note for my account" For when I call again. So I waited again still nothing in app and on website. Apple ID subscriptions still the same minus I don't have my Apple Music anymore.

<><><><>I called the 4th time I asked if there were any notes on my account from the previous calls, and there wasn't so I had to explain the whole situation again! I almost had my hopes up, this rep tried the same procedures, removing and adding the perk again to see if it would cycle through, but no luck. Told the rep switch plans and switch it back and see if that worked, they made me restart my phone and everything still no luck, the perk in my account still shows "pending". the rep then decided to put in a "trouble ticket" and then call me back later that day, but they never called me back.

NOW.

<><><><><>My 5th time calling, I asked the rep to check my account for any pending trouble tickets. The rep then called Apple so what else can they do. My Apple ID is the same ID I used before to get my perks I got with Verizon on my previous plan. I also found out that the previous rep didn't switch back my plan to my original plan and I still got charged for Apple One even though I do not have it activated. The 5th rep seemed more helpful this time around, they credited my account for that uneccesary charge and switched back my plan. But so far nothing, the rep told me they will "call back next week" I just want my perk activated Verizon!! Im about to switch plans!

Ive seen this about 10 times already.   The issue is that when you hit SET UP there is supposed to be a link and text message sent on behalf of verizon and it is never sent.  So consider that I have already read and reread all literature and links about the apple one.

This is from APPLE:

These instructions below in Italics are what is to be followed.   The LINK never is sent and therefore does not activate.

Which results in this:

  1. If you still can't find a button or link to connect your subscription, contact your wireless carrier.

And I've contacted Verizon plenty of times with NO RESOLUTION

When you're access My Verizon, you are following these steps to access the Perks page, and when you get to Step #6 are you selecting Setup or Register?  https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-304582/

All that shows up is SET UP.  If there were a register button I would hit register.  There is no register button and there is no link.

SO TO RECAP:

SET UP BUTTON:  press it.   NO LINK

REGISTER BUTTON:  There is none

Couple things Iโ€™ve noticed with the Verizon rep support.

1). This is an on going issue in this forum. I am not the first to voice this issue.  So if you at Verizon want to search for Apple One Activation Issues you will see numerous complaints about the same thing.

2). The complaints of others have dated back over a year from mine, so itโ€™s seems that rectifying this is not a top priority of Verizon.

3). I noticed in other complaints that after that rep answers the questions with the usual support page links and those donโ€™t work, the responses stop.

so who is going to be the first rep to believe that myself and other customers have gone through all the troubleshooting and internally ask someone why the link is not sent so that we all can have resolution.   Anyone?

If you're not recieving the link to complete the Apple One enrollment, then I highly recommend first, ensuring your properly enrolled via My Verizon, if you've confirmed that's set up correctly, then try this Apple Support step: https://support.apple.com/en-us/108099

You can check for your carrier enrollment using the 'If you don't receive a text from your wireless carrier.' Please give that a try if you've not yet done so.  It's also important to note, if you already have a subscription for Apple for Apple Music, Apple One, then you need to cancel one of those subscriptions prior to using the one covered by us.

I had the same issue. I copied the test link from chrome and pasted it in Safari. It then opened a different window acknowledging that I had in fact signed up. It then led me through the process. It now works.

I hope this helps.

If you're subscribed to Apple Music, Apple One, or another Apple subscription through Apple and your wireless carrier, cancel one of your subscriptions. You can cancel your subscription from Apple. Or you can cancel your subscription through your wireless carrier.

Yes. Here's what happens if you already have Apple One through Apple and sign up for the Apple One perk using the same Apple ID.

If you already have an individual subscription - The original subscription suspends and resumes when the subscription through Verizon is canceled.

If you already have a family subscription:

  • When you enroll in the Apple one individual subscription through Verizon - The original subscription continues and runs at the same time as the Apple One perk subscription. To cancel the original subscription, contact Apple.
  • When you enroll in the Apple one family subscription through Verizon - The original subscription suspends and resumes when the subscription through Verizon is canceled.

It finally happened, I managed to subscribe to Apple One, but there was no link sent. Here's the timeline and my analysis of why it worked:

Feb 6

I was in discussions with customer care regarding a new wireless plan.

Current Plan:

5G Do More with lifetime Apple Arcade included & Apple Music Perk ($10)

Changed by Customer Service to:

Ultimate Plus

After the change, I opted for the Apple One perk, which initiated the problem. (Apple Arcade remained on my plan, but Verizon didn't recognize it and it was still linked to Apple.)

Feb 7 - March 1

I made numerous calls, trying to understand why I couldn't access the Apple One perk, proiblem persisted.

March 3

Called Apple to unlink Apple Arcade.

March 7

Selected the Apple One perk, and it worked.

This was the solution for me, which neither Verizon nor I could initially figure out. To save others from similar frustration and wasted time, here are the steps to follow:

Conclusion:

1) Unlink Apple Arcade (if applicable) from Apple before the beginning of the next billing cycle. In this case, the cycle was from Feb 6 to March 6.

2) Post billing cycle: Choose Apple One.

THIS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED AFTER ABOUT 100 COMBINATIONS OF ATTEMPTS

My problem is they canโ€™t unlink Apple Arcade cause they donโ€™t see it. They see on my bill they are including it for free but have no clue how to cancel it without changing my plan back. The issue? If they change my plan back they said I lose my $1000 trade in credit and they have no way to add it back which is insane.

So where Iโ€™m at after over 24 hours on the phone with verizon representatives half a dozen tickets and talking to over 10 agents no one can figure out how to activate the perk and are basically telling me oh well you canโ€™t use it. Absolutely embarrassing customer service and I would never recommend verizon going forward due to this incompetence.

Hello, JCole945. My apologies to hear of your experience but rest assured, help is here. I have seen other customers use this as a way to resolve the issue with activating the Apple One perk. Please ensure your default browser is set to Safari. I know it's an Apple phone but it may show your default as Chrome. Lastly, please ensure your iOS is up to date. Once you ensure these two, please attempt to activate the perk.

Nope doesnโ€™t work and not the problem. I have tried everything on this website and every faq from verizon and apple. My default browser is correct my ios is updated my plan perk is selected the problem is verizon does NOT provide any link/web page or anything else to set up the perk. The only link I have ever been sent was to sign up for apple one on my own and pay for it out of pocket.

Lets assume and you are right that I have done a lot of work.  Do you actually think that I would not be able to follow instructions.   Its frustrating when the only responses are links to support pages.

Consider that I have read the entire support section from front cover to back AND created the picture collage to demonstrate that this is NOT an error on MY PART.   It is an error ON VERIZON.
