To start off I was looking for a new phone plan and thought Verizon would be a good choice ... I was wrong.

I called into customer service to start a new phone plan;. I speak with the rep about the deals going on and my situation being that I have family in FL and New York that will be on this plan. 5  Users including myself moving over from T-Mobile and 1 person who already has a Verizon phone but is moving over to the plan.

The rep states that he cannot process a split shipping order because "the split shipping is new and don't work well" and that I should just buy the phones then ship them on my own. I respond with no, as the phone need to go to the 3 people in New York and I do not want to ship 3k worth of devices and watches on my own.

Finally he offers I pick up the phones in FL at the store then ship the rest to NY. The one phone number who is  transferring from another Verizon plan will have to wait untill m idnight moving over from a T-Mobile plan

Hi, I've read threads before about people being charged taxes for 2 different states when a phone is purchased out of state and then the line is elsewhere.  Seems like it would be better for your New York family members to get their service set up at a store in New York and those of you in Florida to set your lines up in Florida, with device purchases being done in the state where you're living, to avoid the double taxes thing.

The account ownership for lines can be transferred to another person afterwards, if your family wants you to be the account owner and pay for all the lines.
