Can’t connect internet gateway to account

I recently got the Verizon internet Gateway and I’ve been trying to link it to my account for the past week now but no matter what I do it’s not letting me. I called customer service and they said they could see the service in my account, but I can’t. I tried linking it using the gateways phone number, and then my account number but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it?

Hi Lauren, when you login to My Verizon, are you getting a message saying something like "You'll get the full Account Owner experience when your device is activated" or similar? If so, what happened is you got a guest account instead of a real one and need to make a new account as if you'd never done it before. If the home internet gateway is the only Verizon service you have, create the My Verizon account using the phone number of the internet gateway.

Hi Synthpop, it’s saying I need to be the account owner to access it even though I am the account owner. I tried calling customer service and they said they were able to see the service linked to my account and to give it a couple of days but it’s been about a week now and customer service just keeps telling me to wait 😕

That's strange. If nothing else works, someone at Verizon may have to delete your existing My Verizon account and then you'd have to re-register again. Hope this isn't an IT glitch they're having.

Congrats on your new home internet. We want to make sure we get you set up for success. Did you scan the QR code on the router or in the set up guide to complete the activation?
