Cannot Open Account due to Fraud Flag

I was unable to open an account at a Verizon store today due to my credit application being flagged for fraud.

I provided my driver’s license and initial personal information to the salesman, and was given a phone to talk to an outsourced individual performing an identity check. I had to give my social security number out loud in the store (awkward), as well as email address and a requested billing address. After giving these pieces of information, and 15min of holding, I was told my application was marked as fraudulent.

Looking at the application the salesman inputted, he used the address on my driver’s license—which was out of date. When asked for my billing address over the phone, I provided my new address. We thought this might have caused the flag, so I tried again through the same process. No change.

I am very frustrated by this, as I am who I say I am and have multiple forms of ID, but there was zero willingness to work with me on the part of the is outsourced ID verification process.

How do I move forward with getting a phone line with Verizon?
