Connect HBO Max

I have a Fios residential account for internet. Streaming services (Netflix, etc) are billed through my Verizon cell phone account due to better pricing. Only issue is connecting Max (formerly HBO Max). Whenever I try to log in to Max on a smart tv with( Max app) I am asked to input Verizon ID and password - it will only take the residential account info and since Max is not on that account, requires me to purchase a subscription I am already paying for in my cell phone bill. If I try to log in with the Verizon cell phone info, it is not accepted. Anyone else with this problem or help? Will try calling Verizon support tomorrow but that is usually “fun”.

I just found the answer. I reached Max customer support here 855-442-6629 and was told not to go thru the provider (or find your provider) way to sign in if you’re subscribed thru Verizon wireless but to instead simply sign-in. I had a previous max subscription so I used my same email as my username and the rep sent me a “reset password” link. This finally worked! My guess is if you never had a max account before, you would simply sign up as tho a new customer. Bottom line - don’t go thru the Provider sign-in route because they only show Verizon fios and that’s not correct! Just sign up accordingly to max, either as a new subscriber or thru a previous subscription’s credentials (may need to reset password). I hope this (at least the Max customer service phone number) helps you and others avoid the same frustration I’ve had this morning!

I have had a very frustrating time dealing with this same issue! I was excited to sign into Max thru my new Verizon wireless perk and every single time it requires me to sign in thru Verizon fios (home internet), which I do not have! There has to be a way. Otherwise I have to cancel this perk and be frustrated with both Max and Verizon Wireless.

Also HAD issues!!! I called Max and they said you have to go to SIGN IN! Not login via provider and it WORKED! No one at Verizon could help me! I spent almost 3 hours on the phone with a supervisor and they still couldn’t get it to work! Kudos to Max customer service for fixing this in under 2 minutes!!

These steps only work on Max if you have an existing account with them. If you don't (like me) you have to call Verizon and get them to send you a link to register Max on your Verizon account. Max cannot do anything to activate you until you register through Verizon. I tried all other ways, including going through the Max app on the tv with the QR code and provider Verizon, which uses SSO with Verizon. It did not work because Verizon hadn't done their thing with prompting me to register Max first. This is very tricky if you sign up for Verizon Home internet with these perks during a mid cycle. Just make sure you push Verizon to get you a registration link for each service (Netflix and Max).
