I’m trying to transfer a number over from another carrier, which Verizon should work harder to help since it’s more business. It’s been weeks with no success of transferring the number. Has anyone else started a number transfer then the transfer stays paused because it claims that your current carrier has a transfer protection feature on it?

My current carrier says they don't even have a feature like that.
I have spent weeks speaking with verizon reps who just either end my chat while I'm waiting or not giving me a proper solution. Why is Verizon so bad and impossible to get solutions or require weeks to get an answer?

From what you're describing, your old carrier is holding on to the number and hasn't released it, so you'll have to contact them to find out what's going on.  In order to port out, the following is necessary:

1) Your phone and other contractual obligations with the old carrier must be paid off

2) Phone must be unlocked if it is a carrier model

3) Need a valid transfer PIN - this is maybe what the "transfer protection feature" verbiage is referring to...having a PIN prevents fraudulent porting of your line

4) Your current SIM or eSIM must be replaced with a Verizon SIM/eSIM

If all else fails, contact the FCC as no carriers are allowed to refuse to port a number.  BTW in the 3 instances I ported my number, found that it was much easier done at the carrier's store where they use their tablets to get you set up.

Thank you for trying to help! All of those things are done. It seems like it’s more something Verizon needs to do. The pin was already given. New sim card was received. The transfer of the number completed once which i have a screenshot of but the sim card was not working so I resubmitted the transfer request since verizon agents couldnt figure out the issue or give me any direction as to what to do to move forward. After resubmitting, it says its locked.

You're welcome.  I'm stumped now too.  Since you said you attempted requesting a port out from the old carrier again and it came back "locked" then your number is stuck in limbo somewhere between the old carrier and Verizon.  According to other threads, Verizon's Porting Department can be reached at 888-844-7095.  Hope they get it sorted out for you.

BTW, I hope it's not that your phone isn't supported.  If you go to verizon.com and in the search function on the top right of the page, type in "unsupported phones" a list will come up with assorted links for gadgets that won't work any more with Verizon.

We are terribly sorry for all the issues you have encountered. Unfortunately, it would be something that is outside of our scope. We do have a tool that allows you to check if the device is unlocked and compatible with our system, but if it is coming up locked on our end, there wouldn't be much we can do since it is not a Verizon device.
