Need help learning when my account will become active

   I purchased a plan for my phone yesterday. I need to know when the plan will become active, so that I can cancel my current plan with my current provider. But I can't find a link or button on the Verizon website for that.
   I was unable to learn how to obtain the order number for my purchase. All of my search activity regarding my concern asked for my order number. Yes, this isn't a typo; searching for an order number required me to enter my order number.
   This isn't a rant against Verizon. But I believe that this type of issue shows a deficiency in Verizon's customer support. Please feel free to point out to me that perhaps I just "don't get it".
