Not telling all

Went in a non corporate store in my city.runs everything tells me I'm approved. The problem I have is they say oh let me set up your phone , move over contacts and apps as well as messages too.Did not say they would charge me a $35 setup service ,and also a screen protector for $49.99.

I have read Verizon say they are not responsible for actions of non corporate stores. I'm sure Verizon trained them to do these  things for a way to make them more $. If I paid a setup service that should have been my activation fee?

Can you return the screen protector?  As for the other $35 charge, that's an activation fee, and every major carrier has this exact same charge (Blue Logo Place says this can be up to $50/line in their fine print, Pink Logo Place says $35/line).  And I had to fish around on everybody's website to even find the fine print mentioning the activation fee.  Would sure be nice if they just told us upfront, but since none of the carriers feel the need to do so...?
