Verizon Denying Unlocking Request

To all Verizon customers,

I have been with Verizon my entire life. But today, I fear that this relationship has come to an end. I purchased a brand new iPhone and Verizon is refusing to unlock my phone. This is a violation of FCC rules and regulations. The new iPhone is fully paid off and I was the one to unseal the box so there is no previous owner. Since Verizon keeps giving everyone the run-around (you know the one), I have filed a complaint with the FCC and I implore you to do the same. If they do not fix this issue by tomorrow, I will have no choice but to go to their biggest competitor, AT&T, and give them my hard-earned money. Verizon Wireless has left an extremely sour taste in my mouth today.

I am having the same issue with Verizon. They have denied my request to unlock my phone. I bought a phone at Best Buy three years ago and paid for it in full. Verizon was my carrier for my previous phone and I kept my same account and number with Verizon. The phone should never have been locked but it was and evidently has been since I bought it, but until now I had no reason to see an issue. Now I decided to change carriers and Verizon refuses to unlock it.
