I got a free phone replacement from Apple on 7/15. The IMEI was instantly linked and activated to AT&T and only AT&T.
somehow on 9/28, Verizon reported my imei as
"Fraudulently obtained", Despite it never being linked to a Verizon account. I will get this resolved even if I need to email all the executives and FCC in order to get it blacklisted. I one the phone and am still paying it off at AT&T. lol.
this story is as bizzard as it gets and ONLY Verizon can take it off the black list.
your customer service loves to “research” and forward my cal to AT&T or Apple without any communication.

I am going through something very similar. Brand new iphone 4 years ago and only been on AT&T for all 4 years with same phone number. On 10/25 service was shut off. Took a few calls to finally find out it was Verizon blacklisting the IMEI on the phone. I or anyone in my family have never had Verizon. They said it’s in collections. Collection’s won’t talk to us. AT&T said they can’t do anything until Verizon takes it off the list. How can 1 phone have 2 carriers? It’s a mistake somewhere and no one wants to help or be held accountable. If AT&T won’t help the refund my 4 years of service!!
did you get anywhere with your problem?
