Sunday 9/29/24 purchased new iPhone 16 on new unlimited welcome plan with temporary number.
Monday 9/30/24, national service outages, oh well not a huge deal for me.
Tuesday 10/1/24, attempted to have old number from a different Verizon account transferred to previously mentioned new phone. During this process I was told that I would need to setup a new account by the Verizon support agent. My old number that I've had for 20 years as well as the new service plan and temp number are all gone. I spent over 4 hours at a Verizon store, and they tried to reconnect everything but couldn't. They contacted support with me and after several hours decided I should try to return my 3-day old phone to Best Buy and start over. Best Buy at this time is unable to return anything because the activated account was deleted by Verizon.
I can't make or receive calls, and I can't link service to chat with support. How is anyone supposed to get help with this kind of thing? There's no option to have a support agent email me which is currently my only real option to communicate with anyone because I have no service, and they can't activate my new phone or reactivate my old phone which had a physical sim card.
How am I or anyone else supposed to get help with this if I can't make or receive calls or texts and can't link service to chat? How does this get escalated? Am I stuck paying for a phone and service that I can't use or doesn't exist?
Somebody help me please!
