i have spent 7 hours today talking with about 12 agents. the process of porting my number from xfinity to verizon and adding a new number has been a disaster. i finally spoke to a helpful person in porting but now my phone is stuck in SOS mode and i cannot make any calls to try and figure out how to use my phone and how to activate the other line. i have small kids and my husband and i cannot be without phones in case of emergencies but i seriously have no idea who is even competent at verizon to help me.

Hi, I need assistance as well as this entire port transfer has been extremely problematic. I recently switched from Spectrum to Verizon 3 days ago. The port transfer process finally happened tonight but I have the SOS message on my new Verizon phone. I depend on my phone for work calls on a daily basis. I would like to get in contact with a representative ASAP to solve this issue.
Thanks,

Matt

I  am having the same issue. This is my work phone. I transferred from Xfinity to Verizon today and now it says sos. I got a new phone but itโ€™s delayed. I donโ€™t know what to do

I am also having an issue. My wife just upgraded from an iPhone X to 15. Both on Verizon (not porting from another carrier). The new phone is all set and appears to be activated. The Verizon app shows the new phone and the phone knows the phone number. But it is saying SOS and has no cell service.

I Reset Network Settings, which seems to have fixed it. Hopefully there are no more issues.

We never want any of our cusotmers to have problems with their ports. Please try calling this number to check on your port status: 888.844.7095  Can you also provide us with a list of troubleshooting steps you've tried?

Hey there, aidesaldi, we're glad to hear you chose to switch to Verizon and are here to help with the SOS indicator. Are you still seeing this message on your phone? If so, what model phone are you using?

Kidando, we want to make sure you're able to use your phone without any issues and we're going to make sure your port is taken care of. Can you please reach out to the port center by calling 888.844.7095 in order to check your port status? What's the status of the port?

If you are having an issue with a port not going through (which would explain SOS mode on your phone), you also want to contact your previous carrier and make sure they released the number.  Your phone must also be unlocked before your number can be ported.  I didn't know this the first time I went through this process...a couple of helpful Verizon store employees had to explain it to me.  If your phone is locked to someone else's network, you'd have to contact them as to how to get the phone unlocked, as unlocking policies vary.

Hello, jbuonanoce, I'm sorry to hear you're running into an issue with seeing the SOS indicator on your phone. To make sure we're on the same page, are you also porting your number to Verizon? If so, when did you port your number?

I have also spent hours trying to figure this out and have talked to so many people about it. It's been 13 hours since the port transfer was completed, and still nothing. I can't go another day without being reachable. Please help!!
