Beaglebone/Linux USB551L

Hi,

I am a complete newbie to Linux... I need a step-by-step guide on how to make the USB551L modem work on my Beaglebone Black running the latest Linux kernel. It looks like driver support is already there, but I don't know how to get the connection going. The led is solid blue.

I had it working on my Windows PC with the Verizon software, so I know it works.

clappe, we want to make sure that you’re able to use your USB551L modem to get your computer online. Let me further clarify this for you. In reviewing the user guide for your 4G LTE USB Modem, this device only supports Windows 7 or higher and Mac OS X 10.4 or higher operating systems. There is no compatibility listed for the Linux operating system. You can view the user guide here and check the System Requirements on page 2 of the manual. http://vz.to/2cdicD8

According to the log, it supports the Qualcomm Modem Interface using the Windows Driver Model, so I'd try the Beaglebone and Linux forums for advanced help/support.

The modem functions exactly as it should, you're just missing an app to use it.
