Is the Mifi U620L USB Modem compatible with typical wireless routers, particularly interested in the Almond  router?

You would have to check the specs on the router you are interested in.  Home routers that support USB modems often have a specific list of devices that they support as drivers need to be available to talk to the USB modem and connect to the network.

A quick browsing of the Almond website suggests that they do not have the ability to communicate with USB modems:

You might want to contact Securifi and ask them to confirm before making a purchase.
