***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. On the afternoon of Monday 12/5, all users will be able to log into the new Verizon Community. We expect the new Community to be fully functional the morning of Friday 12/9. Additional details can be found in the Announcements board and under Featured Topics!
What does "discontinued support" mean

Our Samsung Intensity II is listed as "discontinued support." What does that mean? It still works and we can send and receive calls and text messages. Do we have to upgrade to another device or can we continue to use the old one?

Re: What does "discontinued support" mean

What is the context of that statement?

Is the phone a 3G CDMA only phone? At some point in the future, the Verizon Wireless network of the 1xRTT and 3G EDVO network will shut down and converted to the LTE or 5G network. Any device that use the 1xRTT or 3G EDVO network will not work properly after the shutdown and will need to be replaced.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
