Droid search doesn't seem to be very robust - am I doing something wrong?

Am I missing something? It seems to me that the contact search on the Moto Droid is weak and shallow. I say that because when I search by the word "charter" in my contacts it only brings up 5 names. I have over 20 people in my contacts with "charter" in the company field, but it only brings up a few of them.

Any idea why this is or if it's going to be built upon in the future?

*note* I am NOT Droid bashing here. I absolutely LOVE my phone. Just making an observation and requesting some advice. I'm sure that many of you can see why this can be frustrating as well. When you're looking for contacts from a specific company or office, its nice to be able to only have them show up in a search so it cuts down on scrolling through a lot of irrelevant contacts. Especially when you have 100's of contacts in your list.

Nevermid. I found an app on the market that has a much deeper search funtion. It's called Aurora Universal Search and it searches EVERYITHING. I'm surprised it doesn't tell me what's in my pants pockets at any given time.

Anyhoo, something to think about as a workaround until Google adds a little more meat to their search function on Android. Sort of ironic though, isn't it? The most powerful search engine on the web can't find my contacts via a company name... odd. :manvery-happy:
