So I just got my Droid yesterday and I LOVE it. I can't imagine a better phone. It does everything incredibly well so far, and I have no complaints at all.
So now I'm ready to download some apps... I looked through the forum but didn't see any posts with any recommendations. What are some of your must-have apps for the Droid?
Here is what I need:
- Digital clock widget for home screen
- Weather
- Sports scores
- Movie showtimes
- TV listings
- Book reader
- Flash light that uses the LED
- Tip Calculator
- Mortgage Calculator
- Games
- Anything else that shows off the awesomeness of the Droid!
Let me know what's working well for you!

some of mine:
PANDORA - I'm not one to listen to music much using my phone, but this program may change my mind. Just used it for the first time last night and it's pretty darn good.
RINGDROID - great little app for making ringtones or notification tones.
WHERE - just about everything you need to look up.
SMSPOPUP - take control of those text messages.
ALARMS from Palmarysoft - do anything you want with alarms - very cool app.
COUNTDOWN ALARM by Adam K, - great for those times when you need a quick alarm set for 10 minutes, 15 minutes, whatever time.

Can you explain more about what the SMSPOPUP does and where in the market I can find it? Couldn't locate it.

do a search for SMS Popup (the space between the two words are important in the market)

Yep, what he said above. search for "SMS Popup".
Mainly, it allows you to set whatever notification you want for SMS and MMS messages that are completely independent of the core notification sounds.

It can show you whats been running in the background and taking up resources. It's a little hard to figure out but most people find it to be a very useful tool.

Partial Wake usage will tell you if you have a runaway battery hog app. Android System should be on top for the most part unless you listen to music 24/7.
CPU usage would tell you if an application is running crazy and causing lag.
Its basically a reference tool

My Number 2 partial wake is always Music, but I never play music. Should I suspect some other app mimicking music or could it be bluetooth...?

If you're looking for top quality games, I suggest anything from Hexage:
Buka, Totemo, and Radiant.
Oh, and from Larva Labs too:
Retro Defense.

Thanks for all the suggestions here, I've found some really great apps thanks to all your help.
Has anyone found an LED flashlight yet? It seems like there used to be one called "Droid Light" but it seems to not be in the market anymore... anyone know what happened to it?
Also, has anyone been successful using "Key Ring" at the grocery store? I tried it a couple times but it never seems to want to scan.

I don't know about an LED Flashlight, but if you just download the program Flashlight, it's certainly a life saver. There have been plenty of times where I have found my keys in my car due to that little program -- I love it.
I'm not sure what Key Ring is, but if you're looking for a barcode scanner for your phone I suggest Barcode Scanner, or Shop Savvy.
Shop Savvy is better for grocery shopping in my opinion. But I like Barcode Scanner for QR codes.

Shop Savvy has been pretty cool but I'll download barcode scanner too.
K-9 Mail so far is the #1 useful program for me - I use it to replace the mail client the droid comes with. It's 100 times better and free.
