For all the people who have said, "stop whining and get another phone" - Today I went into the Verizon store because I couldn't take all the dropped/muted calls any more. They gave me a different phone. They said that once I got logged into Google I would get "everything back". So...I'm afraid to ask, because this is probably an obvious question...what happened to all my apps? In the event that I have to return this phone, how can I minimize the transition to the replacement phone next time. Is there an app for that and if so which is the best? Thanks.

I am pretty sure I remember having to redownload my unpaid apps. I could be wrong though. good luck with this phone. I know you had a bad experience before. Hope this one is better.

I just switched phones also. I did have to d/l all my apps again that I had on the other phones. They were the free ones though so I don't know how it works with the paid. Also all of my contacts and calendar information came back and was there as soon as I set up the phone, that was nice!

Get appbrians.... You can "sync" you apps to the we site (Make sure you create a "new list" - not just theones that are on the phone - and "copy" the ones on your phone over to that "personalized" list...
You can then "transfer" the "personalized list" to the "main" then "sync" the phone to the appbrain account... That way you never "forget" what apps you had installed.
Titanium backup works perfectly, and fully automatically, but requries root to be able to push the apk's back to the phone... Appbrains, does NOT require root, it works in conjunciton with the actual Market installer (Meaning you have to manually clikck the "install" button, and OK for each app, but it basically "pushes" the app selection to the installer.
You can also browse/search apps in the market directly through app brain, que up a bunch of apps, then "sync" the phone with the appbrain website to install them...
Just remember, if you add an app using the "normal" phone search method, to re-sync, so appbrains knows what apps you have installed.
