One word of warning:
If you have purchased any apps in the market, they are permanently tied to your gmail account that you have on the phone, so if you change your gmail account and have purchased any apps, you will have to re-purchase these apps. If you don't have any paid apps, this is not a problem, and simply doing a factory reset (from the security menu under settings) will allow you to change the Eris to a different account.
