However, it just did something funny. As I was making a post somewhere else, it started typing an odd phrase over and over and doing it very fast. It was something to the effect of "this is the best program ever and I am..... " with a few more words, but not a complete sentence. I had to hit and hold the back key to make it stop.
Of course, this is a free beta version, but really, **bleep**?? Ann, have you played with this version? That's an odd bug, don'tcha think?..))
Thanx,
Geri O

I installed the SwiftKey X Beta keyboard a few days ago and now I get it. Unbelievable! How on Earth does it do this?? I'm a believer.

I've heard of that before with other OS gerio, that would qualify as a malicious item hidden within the program.

Fyi there was another thread in the Thunderbolt forum that has some more of my impressions of the keyboard. It was a bumpy start on the first day of its release on the market for me. Thankfully it has calmed down.

it jacked up my phone pretty bad. i had to uninstall it within hours. battery heated up immediately and threw my text threads out of chronilogical order as soon as i set it as my default keyboard. i've never had an app cause so many identifiable problems like that.

I took a look at the beta app last night but the permissions it requested just didn't sit right with me. Just seems odd that the app would need to modify and delete contents of the SD Card, and full internet access. There could be nothing wrong with needing those permissions, but that added with Gerio's statement just doesn't sit right with me.

The language modules and the personalization is saved on the sd card. I would guess the Internet access is to get and download the language modules.
I guess that would make sense.
