I'm getting ready to switch from Eris to Incredible and want to transfer the apps I have on the Eris to the new device. Could not find what I was looking for in the search so hopefully someone can give me info or send me in the right direction. Looking for a FREE & easy to use backup app that will save the DL apps I have on my Eris, including the purchased ones. Any suggestions? Thx

If you are using the same gmail account and got apps from the market it will allow you to see your downloads.. but the sd card or writing them down might be your best bet..
congrats on getting out of the eris

ES File Explorer and Astro File explorer is (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro&feature=search_result) or (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&feature=search_result) free and under settings there is a option to backup apps apk but no personal settings for apps.
I use MyBackup that isnt free but best option... https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rerware.android.MyBackupPro&feature=search_result

But seriously, ASTRO file manager does a great job of backing up the apps themselves. You'll just have to set your settings again on the new phone. But this isn't really a bad thing, since transferring settings between models *can* cause problems. In-app settings backups should work fine though.

I use McAfee WaveSecure. Seems to work fine/well. You can set it up to automatically backup your data and text messages, etc. on a daily basis, or however often you want it to. You can also access any of your backed up data and text messages online through any internet browser.
It does some other cool stuff like you can lock down your phone from anywhere online if your phone gets stolen and you want to lock down your private data.

That looks like a nice app for messages but it does not appear to backup the apps unless I overlooked this option.
